Santa Monica, CA

The Fleet Services building was designed to provide the Department of Water and Power with 20,000 square feet of space for the maintenance of trucks, general materials storage, and parking for service vehicles. It is organized in an L-shaped configuration, acknowledging the presence of the adjacent Central Distribution Headquarters facility, also designed by Mehrdad Yazdani. The building was recently honored with a "Merit Award" from the American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles Chapter, and an "Award for Design Excellence" from the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Commission.
